| Cinema Under the Stars! Making Memories in Mission Hills |

PLAY: This date focuses on it’s charming centerpiece: Cinema Under the Stars. Purchase tickets in advance for this darling outdoor movie theatre in Mission Hills. Begin the date with dinner at The Red Door Restaurant. It's a newer eatery and already one of our top favorite restaurants. Next, enjoy a show at Cinema Under the Stars. For a seamless “Star-Lit Sky” theme to your evening... after the show grab a signature cocktail from the upstairs outdoor bar at Starlite Restaurant.
BLOG: Cinema Under the Stars: Another “Best Kept Secret” of San Diego. This outdoor nest is so charming that your date won’t even focus on the fact that you only spent about $13 a person. Way to distract! They have zero-gravity lounge chairs and special occasion cabanas for your viewing experience (and blankets for canoodling). It’s decorated with white lights, and, just like an indoor movie theatre, they provide concessions (but no alcohol). In San Diego… this is definitely the best bang for your buck. Make sure to plan this date right away because the show times are seasonal. The Red Door is a very romantic restaurant tucked away in Mission Hills... which happens to be the perfect location. It has the urban edge of its South Mission Hills' neighbors with all of the class and sophistication of those North Mission Hills' Mansions. Their food is described as "American Comfort Classics." This is a great place for making a good first impression! When you go to Starlite you feel as if you’ve gone back in time to a sexy, retro lounge where intellectual conversation fills the room as hipsters sip on trendy cocktails. The doorway itself is a virtual porthole back to the 70’s. I would recommend sitting at the sunken bar downstairs and ordering their signature “Starlite Mule” cocktail in a copper mug… OR politely head upstairs to their outdoor patio for a drink under the stars. The food is rather interesting too, and the ambiance of this place is a date experience in itself.
