| From Dinner in a Treehouse to Theatre in a Playhouse |

PLAY: Purchase tickets at the La Jolla Playhouse way in advance. Have dinner at Jai (which is right next door) before the show.
BLOG: Wolfgang Puck recently opened a restaurant right next to the La Jolla Playhouse, and it is architecturally awesome! I compare it to a treehouse because it's completely open to the outdoor air and tucked away in a small forest of trees. Any one up for cocktails & culture?! I have not had the pleasure of eating at Jai yet, but my husband and I have tried! We arrived early hoping to grab a glass of wine and chat with the bartender, but they weren't open yet. (They open at 5:30pm.) So, instead, we just hid behind some trees and watched as the wait staff had their daily meeting (which looked more like an exclusive party going on around the bar!) For a quick moment I was feeling jealous that I didn't work there... Jai just looks sooo cool! And if it's Wolfgang Puck... I can only imagine how good the food is! If you are smart enough to arrive when they are actually open, let us know your thoughts! Don't let the fact that this restaurant is on the UCSD campus throw you off... It's no college caffeteria. The La Jolla Playhouse is a La Jolla staple. It is a Tony award winning theatre that is the centerpiece for the la jolla artistic, political, and social scene. Attending this theatre is a wonderful opportunity to get dressed up and go out for a night on the town! I've been begging my husband to take me... maybe I'll get lucky soon.
