So boys, listen up- it’s not all about your pearly whites or luscious locks- it’s about the right clothes that finish off your look and make us gals go crazy. Style is the way to all women’s hearts.

For a first date look, depending on location of the rendezvous, think casual cool. Jeans that are not ripped, tattered, have fleur-de-lis on the pockets, or bedazzled are appropriate; all others are not. Length is also important to consider. If you are tall, make sure you go for a longer jean. Diesel and Sevens have longer selections at most of the department stores in town. If you are shorter, you must find a tailor! They will soon become your best friend (Quick tip: if you buy your jeans at places like Nordstrom and Bloomingdales, they offer the service complementary with purchase). But, the number one thing to make sure of is that your pants FIT! Do not buy them too big, either because you think you are a gangster, or have a great belt to pair with, and don’t, I repeat DON’T buy them to small. No one wants a sneak peak before drinks are served.

From the waist up, focus on a button down casual top. Patterns like checkers are super trendy right now, especially in neon colors like bright yellow and green. Color can go a long way if it is worn as a complement. Skip the pink polo shirts and anything with a popped color. Try rolling up your sleeves to the elbow or just below- this gives off the impression that you are relaxed and comfortable. Keep the shirt tucked out- it keeps the vibe casual.

Shoes finish the look. My favorites include Ferragamo brown loafers or a clean sneaker that doesn’t clash with anything up top. Shoes should be a complement to the look. Don’t think that because women can pull off bright pink pumps or patent booties, that men should follow suit.
