If you live on the main land, Coronado is a great escape for an after work affair. Candelas at the Ferry Landing sets the stage for a view-tastic Happy Hour experience. Located right on the bay, Candelas has a wall entirely made of glass, so you feel like you are cocktailing on the water! Everyday from 4pm to 6pm, and again from 10pm to midnight, Candelas has a terrific Happy Hour: 1/2 off ALL DRINKS AND APPETIZERS... Refreshing! Also check their website for live music lineups. (Music every Wednesday through Sunday!)

The new Proper Gastropub in Petco Park (attached to the new Wine Steals) is a great place to enjoy an outdoor Happy Hour. They have a refreshing rooftop bar that overlooks the grassy knoll at Park in the Park. With specials at Wine Steals as well, the rooftop is the perfect place for both sexes to enjoy their drink of choice. Proper Gastropub offers HALF OFF all cocktails and appetizers from 4pm to 7pm all week long... Sounds like a nice pre-game spot for your baseball date!

If you are looking for a mini Mexican siesta at the end of your work day head to Super El Camino in Little Italy (the old "Airport Lounge"). This restaurant is visual art with modern Mexican murals and whimsical decor- much like the distinct design of a custom El Camino ... spinning rims and all! From 5pm - 7pm they offer their daily Happy Hour menu: 1/2 off all quesadillas and nachos, $3 Coronas, $3 house margaritas, $20 house margarita pitchers, $3 glasses of Sangria and $15 Sangria pitchers! And there is a dance party every night after dinner (whether it be karaoke, a live band or a DJ...)

Confidential is has a great Happy Hour in all of downtown because ALL of their drinks are 1/2 off! And with parking so close (just park in horton plaza and validate for 3 free hours without purchasing a thing) it's one of the more accessible venues downtown.
On Wednesday through Friday it's 1/2 off all drinks from 5pm - 8pm, and on Tuesday you can enjoy 1/2 off all night long! You want a fine scotch? 1/2 off! Maybe a martini? 1/2 off! An ENTIRE bottle of wine? 1/2 off!!! A date with the cute bartender or a sexy server? Well, that one's up to you....

La Puerta can be compared to a perfect margarita- not too sweet (guys on Harleys), not too sour (girls in suits), not too watered down (this is not your "Intervention Sundays" crowd), and filled to the brim with tequila!! It has the feel of a dive bar, but all the details of an upscale urban refuge from work. Everytime I recommend this place I get "Thank You's!"...
Their Happy Hours offer 1/2 off ALL drinks (bring on the top shelf tequila!) and appetizers from 3pm - 7pm Tuesday through Friday and all night on Mondays!
