| A Day of Play at the Wave House |
DATE: Get to the Wave House early so you can find parking. As you walk in you will see a big intimidating wave in the front. That is not for you... yet! Register to do the FlowRider wave in the back. It's much smaller, and you can Boogie-Board if you prefer. After several rounds you may or may not qualify to do the FlowBarrel wave in the front. Once you are exhausted, reward your efforts with some drinks and lunch from the Bar & Grill, and post up near the big wave so you can watch the show-offs fall flat on their faces! If you get water-logged, head next door to Belmont Park. Make sure to ride the "Giant Dipper" rollercoaster and play glow-in-the-dark miniature golf!
BLOG: A couple who plays together... stays together! The Wave House in Mission Beach is a one-stop shop for all of your fun... and it's a great way to try surfing if you are afraid of sharks. If an 8-year-old can do it so can you! When people think of the Wave House, they think of a crazy social scene... and that is true on the weekends during the summer (so if you are bringing kids- go early or make it a weekday treat.) However, if you are truly going to try out your surf skills then the wave for you is in the back away from all the action! The "scene" is a nice treat for your surfing after-party celebration. Wave House and Belmont Park both have seasonal hours and discounted prices posted on their website, so make sure to check it out.
